Hi, I’m Danie, the heart behind Married on Mille Lacs. Born out of a passion for creating unforgettable events, my business combines years of experience with a deep love for weddings and community.
My journey began at 18 as a DJ, where I quickly realized how much I loved crafting memorable experiences for couples and their guests. From there, my path unfolded naturally. I began planning holiday parties, ladies' weekends, and large community events, and after graduating with a degree in film and production in 2014, I expanded into wedding videography and professional photography. For years, I ran my own media business, and now, with Married on Mille Lacs, I’m channeling my skills and heart into wedding planning.

Since moving to Isle, on the southeast side of Mille Lacs Lake, I've become deeply rooted in the community. I joined the Lions Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Garden Club, connecting with neighbors and business owners alike to build a supportive "village" for my family. My role in the Chamber allowed me to plan events where local families could come together, including family fun nights and a 10-day fall festival. These experiences brought me so much joy that I decided to create a business focused on offering that same joy to couples planning their weddings in this beautiful area.

My passion for event planning is woven into everything I do, blending creativity, professionalism, and a true love for bringing people together. With a strong background in photo, video, and DJ services, I bring a unique perspective to every event, capturing moments and setting the perfect atmosphere.
My journey started with organizing holiday parties, ladies’ weekends, and community events, which deepened my appreciation for how impactful a well-planned event can be.

My community involvement fuels this passion. Through local organizations, I've organized family fun nights, festivals, and gatherings, connecting with people and building a network of trusted vendors and partners. I aim to make every event vibrant and enjoyable for everyone, while still maintaining a smooth flow and professional touch.

Photography & Video Services
With a lifelong passion for photography and storytelling, my journey began at 14 with my first video camera, capturing stories and moments that mattered. In high school, I led the media department, overseeing the daily broadcasts as a junior and senior, and in college, I expanded my skills in both photography and videography. There, I discovered a talent for producing—bringing a production together from start to finish, handling planning, logistics, coordination, and execution.

After graduation, I stepped into television production, working on popular HGTV shows like Bath Crashers, Rustic Renovations, and Stay or Sell, where I grew from a production assistant to a producer. Seeking more family-friendly hours, I later took on an executive assistant role for a Stillwater-based photographer and studio owner, where I learned the importance of building community and prioritizing collaboration over competition.

Today, I continue to follow my passion through photography and video services, working independently and collaborating with Rachel DesJardins Photography/The Hive House Studio and Lead Sheep Productions. This blend of professional experience and community connection is the foundation of my work, allowing me to create media that tells a story and captures the essence of each moment.

DJ Services
With over 16 of experience, I’m a DJ who brings energy, personality, and a unique touch to every event. Trained at 16 and professionally spinning since 18, I’ve played everywhere from dance clubs and bars to unforgettable weddings. As a hands-on DJ, I’m all about getting the crowd involved and making sure every moment reflects the style and story of the bride and groom. Beyond DJing, I’ve hosted karaoke nights, taught line dancing, and MC’ed events like Country Jam and local benefits. My approach combines big personality with curated professionalism, ensuring each event is as lively and memorable as it is seamless.
