Red Door Resort

Autumn in Minnesota is Uncommonly Picturesque

All your guests in one place…

Not just for the ceremony, and not just for the reception, but for the whole night (or even the entire weekend)!

Our summer weekends are packed with families and fishermen, but if you want a romantic setting for your wedding and reception, September/October is the perfect season, and The Red Door Resort on Lake Mille Lacs is the perfect spot.

Book the entire resort and enjoy our 12-acre property for just you and your guests. If you like, hold the ceremony right on our beach – just imagine the fall colors of the leaves and the gentle waves of majestic Lake Mille Lacs at your feet.

If you rent a large event tent for the lakeside lawn, your guests are all set for an evening of dinner and dancing, rain or shine.

Enjoy Both Our Cabins and Motel

When it comes to Mille Lacs wedding venues, outdoor lake weddings, and Minnesota lake weddings, you really can’t do much better. Of course, everyone always asks, “Can you really accommodate all my guests?” Absolutely! We offer:

Cabins

3 – three-bedroom 2BA (7 people each)

8 – two-bedroom 1BA  (5 people each)

Motel

1 – Family Suite

(up to 13 people)

A bunch of motel rooms

(2-4 people per room)

Total occupancy: 103 family and friends, all of whom can gather for 48 hours of celebration, romance, fellowship, relaxation, partying, and laughs. Imagine the memories you’ll make!

At Red Door

Pay Nothing for the Venue

How is that possible?

Well, as long as the minimum is met, the following are included at no additional cost

  • Our 96-person event center that’s perfect for the Groom’s Dinner and wedding-day appetizers (and even the reception if you don’t rent a tent)

  • Resort owned tables and chairs

  • Café with a commercial kitchen - your caterers will have full access

  • As many harbor slips as you might need

The Resort Minimum for the

Weddings Weekend is $10,000

Now your guests typically pay for their own accommodations.  So when they book and pay for a cabin or motel room, their reservation counts toward the $10,000 minimum – and get this: assuming your party fills the resort for both nights, you’ll have covered the entire $10,000.  In this case, the wedding couple pays nothing for the venue and only pays for their own lodging and other expenses (see below).

Wait, what about the event center, the cafe, and the harbor slips?

Yep, all paid for when your guests fill the resort.
